Dear Parents,

It was so great to see so many new parents this week during our 6th grade parent night.  We are very proud of all of our students for doing their very best during MAP testing.  Our staff will be utilizing the data to determine instructional strategies to support our students.  We want to congratulate our 7th grade boys’ basketball team for taking first place as we are moving into the semifinal games.

Countdown Spirit Week:

Dec. 11-  PJ

Dec. 12-  Twin Day

Dec. 13-  College Wear

Dec. 14- Jersey Day

Dec. 15-  Dress to Impress

Drop off and Pick up Procedures:

As the weather is getting colder and the drop off and pick up of students has increased, please make sure to follow our safety procedures.

  • Cars cannot enter the east parking lot after 7:25 am.  If you do enter before this time, you must wait for all buses to pull out of our parking lot before you may proceed.
  • If you are dropping off or picking up in the west parking lot, you cannot turn right down Rosedale Lane.  Follow Hassell Road to Carling.  Pull into the parking lot to drop off.  Do not have your child cross over Rosedale as it creates a safety hazard.
  • When you pull into the east parking lot, please pull far ahead to the front of the building.  This allows many vehicles to drop off students at the same time, which increases the amount of time parents have to wait to drop off.
  • Please make sure to ask your child to be ready to leave the vehicle quickly when you drop off.  A kiss and go procedure should increase the efficiency of the drop off lane.

Thank you for your continued support of keeping our students safe.

Girls Volleyball and Wrestling

Girls Volleyball and Wrestling seasons begin right after winter break on Monday, January 8, 2024.  Any student trying out for volleyball or wishing to take part in wrestling must have an approved sports physical on file with the nurse prior to being able to participate. All physicals are requested by Monday, December 11 and please contact our Nurse, Mrs. Ban, with any questions at 847-357- 5447.

Eisenhower Yearbook:

Yearbooks are now on sale for $25.  Beginning January 27th, the price will be raised to $30.  To take advantage of the lower cost, have your child use the Yearbook Link  to order.  Use the classroom code eog4wfw .  Announcements will also go out to our students through morning announcements on how to join the Google Classroom to order.

Attendance:  If your child is staying home, please make sure to call our school office by 8:00 am.  Please call 847-357- 5502.  Students who are not called in are marked unexcused.

Eisenhower PTA

Donut Snack Days permission form

The Ike PTA will be trying something new after we return from winter break – a donut snack day! We will be selling donuts during your student’s lunch period and need a signed food permission form if they may be interested in buying. No need to buy ahead – this will work like nacho day and they just need to bring food with them that day. However, in order to buy a donut, a permission form is needed ahead of time. A form will be sent home with your student, but we have also attached it to this email. Please sign and return by December 15th.

Five Below Fundraiser – 3 MORE DAYS!

We are trying something new in December – a “shopping” fundraiser. We know December is prime shopping season for many, and rather than a typical restaurant dine out day, we will be shopping at Five Below to support Ike. You have through Sunday, Dec. 10th to get some holiday shopping done and also support Ike at the same time. The fundraiser requires you to have a printed flyer when you shop in the Schaumburg store on Golf Rd. One should be sent home with your student, however you can also download and print from this email or on our website. Thank you for considering supporting Ike and your students!

Dine out ALL DAY for Ike

Feel like a frosty or a burger? Stop by Wendy’s on Wednesday, December 13th for breakfast, lunch or dinner and support Ike! Use the flyer located on our website at time of order (on your phone is fine).

 Membership

Thank you to all the parents who have already joined the PTA this year – we appreciate you so much! We are almost to the same membership level as last year, we just need a few more memberships to go. Joining the PTA does not mean you have to volunteer (although we’d love the help). Simply becoming a member also helps support the PTA in our mission to help the school and your students. Consider joining by completing the paper form sent home with your student in their gray “take home folder” at the beginning of the year, or in our online storeMemberships are $8 and are open to any parent, guardian, staff member or community member.

 Hot Lunch

Our next Hot Lunch will be from Popeye’s on December 15th. Our online orders are now closed, but you can still order for our January hot lunch from Fortune House on our website until January 18th.
