Erin’s Law:

Again this year, we will be implementing  a child sexual abuse prevention program in our schools as the result of the passage of Public Act 097-1147, also known as Erin’s Law. This law expanded upon previous legislation and required child sexual abuse prevention education for children beginning in pre-kindergarten and continuing through all grade levels.  Our guidance team will be presenting this information to students on Oct. 25 – 27 in their health classrooms.  Please call me at any time if you have any questions.  Please view the attached letters for more information.

After Student Spectators:

We encourage students to participate in watching our athletes during our sporting events. Students are required to be students first in order to participate. In order to participate…

  •  Students may not have more than 3 missing assignments
  •  Students may not have received a detention for a behavior for the week
  • Spectators are required to stay at school and meet in the cafeteria before the game or meet begins.  We allow students to use their phones the first five minutes in the cafeteria to inform parents that they are staying for the event.
  •  If students leave school and come back to attend the after school event, they must be accompanied by a parent during the remaining time of the game/meet.  A parent must be at the event with their child during the entire time.

Parent Pick Up:

When picking up your child from after school events or sports, please park in the parking lot to wait for your child.  Both driveways need to be cleared for buses and cars to enter and exit.

Fall Fest Dance:

We are very excited to be hosting our first dance of the year to celebrate the fall season. School appropriate costumes are accepted.

Eisenhower PTA

Hot Lunch

Our next hot lunch will be served on Friday, October 20th. You can still order on our online store until October 12th.

 Magnets

We are still selling our 5 inch car/locker magnets on our online store for $5. If interested, the magnet will be sent home with your student once your order has been placed.

 Dine Out Day for Ike

Save the date for our next dine out day for Ike on October 17th at Mod Pizza in Schaumburg! You can participate by ordering online using the code MODGIVE25 or by visiting in person to order and showing the fundraiser flyer (which will be on our website). The Ike PTA will receive 30% back from every order to benefit our students.

 Concessions

We are still in need of parents to run our concession stand at home games and meets. This would be great to have as a committee, with one person in charge of shopping and another in charge of gathering volunteers for the games. Since we currently do not have anyone interested in running this committee, we are unable to provide snacks as an option for our athletes and those attending games and meets at Ike. If you are interested, please reach out to [email protected] to learn more!

 Membership

Thank you to all the parents who have already joined the PTA this year – we appreciate you so much! Joining the PTA does not mean you have to volunteer (although we’d love the help). Simply becoming a member also helps support the PTA in our mission to help the school and your students. Consider joining by completing the paper form sent home with your student in their gray “take home folder” at the beginning of the year, or in our online store. Memberships are $8 and are open to any parent, guardian, staff member or community member.
