Dear Parents and Guardians:

Graduation is quickly approaching.  Our ceremony will be held at Fremd High School at 6:30  PM Thursday, May 21st .  Graduates will receive their diplomas at this time.

Students must also attend a full day of school on Thursday, May 21st to participate in the graduation ceremony.  Graduation practice will be held on Thursday, May 21st in the morning.  In the afternoon, our eighth grade students will have their picnic and fun activities to follow.

  • Any inappropriate behaviors which occur before the end of the year could cause your child to be excluded from 8th grade activities (i.e. dance, picnic) and the graduation ceremony.

On May 21st, graduates are required to arrive at William Fremd High School by 6:00 pm so that they can be placed in alphabetical order. Students and parents will enter through the main door, Door 1.  Students will proceed directly to the cafeteria.  Parents will go to the main gym. Graduates with last names A-L will be seated on the West Side as you face the stage, while M-Z will be on the East Side. Use these guidelines when selecting your seat.  At the conclusion of the ceremony, it is suggested that the parents choose a meeting place in the school parking lot.   This will assist you in finding your child at the conclusion of the ceremony.

All graduates must wear a graduation gown and medal in the ceremony, which was purchased through the school.  Gowns were distributed at school on Wednesday, May 13th so that you will be able to press the gown and take photographs at home.  Medals will be given to your graduate on May 21st when they arrive for the ceremony. No one will be permitted to take pictures in an area that will interfere with the view of the other graduates.  We request that all guests remain seated during the entire ceremony.

We are not issuing tickets to the ceremony however, we recommend that you limit your group to six family members.  The Fremd gym is large and should accommodate the estimated 2,000 guests without any problem.  Please try to limit your guests to family members only.

Handicapped seating is available on the main floor of the gym.  Please contact our office at 847-357-5500 to secure seating, as handicapped seating is limited to the person requiring accommodation +1.

Please help us keep this evening one where every Eisenhower Eagle is given the appropriate and earned respect for their eighth grade graduation.  Every family is excited about seeing their child graduate. Each graduation audience has successfully complied with this following request to refrain from all loud noises including the use of air horns, cheers and clapping for each individual child during reading of names in the ceremony.  This would only serve as a delay for other students waiting to receive their diploma. It is important for every family to have the opportunity to hear their child’s name called. At the beginning and the end of the ceremony, there will be an opportunity to cheer and celebrate. We formally, and professionally, request at the graduation ceremony that you demonstrate your respect and approval for all students by holding any applause or cheering during the reading of students’ names.  We will allow ample time for all graduates to stand and receive their special recognition together as the Eisenhower Graduates of 2026.

Please remember that applause is the appropriate response at graduation, and it should occur at the conclusion of the ceremony to allow for every family to hear the name of their child being read.

In closing, the graduation ceremony should be a meaningful, pleasant experience for you as well as your graduate.  For that to happen, we need your cooperation.  If you plan to take pictures, please do not stand in an area that will interfere with the students entering and leaving the ceremony. Balloons should not be brought into the building to afford all families the viewing of their graduate.

We appreciate your continued support as we conclude this school year.  Please contact us at any time if you have any questions.
