- Graduation Ceremony:
- The graduation ceremony will begin promptly at 8:30 am on Sunday, June 2, at Wintrust Field (also known as Schaumburg Boomers Stadium) 1999 South Springinsguth Road, Schaumburg. Graduates should arrive no later than 8:00 am and report to the small parking lot on the southeast side of the stadium. Families are asked to park in the south lot.
- A livestream of the ceremony will be posted to the District 54 YouTube Channel for those who do not wish to participate in person or are unable to be there that day. All students’ names will be read during the ceremony.
- Students will be walking on the dirt path along the first base line when they enter, and therefore should wear flat shoes (no heels).
- Graduation Practice: Graduation practice for our eighth grade students will take place starting at 7:40 am on Friday, May 31, 2024. If your child is participating in the ceremony, then it is a requirement for your child to attend a full day on Friday, May 31, 2024. The practice will take place in the gym.
- Graduation Tickets: Graduation gowns, medals, and tickets will be given to students at school on May 29.
- Tickets are required to enter the ceremony. Students will sit on the field with their classmates, while families will sit in the stands. Please make sure to sit within your assigned seat. Parents of graduates with last names A-L will sit along the 1st base line. Parents of graduates with last names M-Z will sit along the 3rd base line.
- Where do we enter the stadium? Guests with special needs can enter through the “Main Entrance” and will be guided to a designated seating area on the concourse. All other guests should enter at the “1st Base Gate”.
- Handicap Seating: Handicapped seating is available. Please contact our office so that tickets can be issued in these designated areas.
- What happens if it rains on graduation day?
If we should have to cancel the ceremony due to inclement weather, we will notify all families by 11:15 am that day. We will transition to an indoor graduation at 7:30 pm on June 3, 2024 at Hoffman Estates High School .
- Yearbooks: For those families that have purchased a yearbook for their child, it is our goal to distribute them to the eighth grade students along with the graduation gowns on Wednesday, May 29.
- Eighth grade students will clean out their lockers on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.
- Chromebook Return: On Thursday, May 30, 2024, eighth-grade students will be returning their Chromebooks and Chromebook Chargers during the last two periods of the day. The last day for eighth grade students to access their Google account will be Friday, May 31.
- Student Behavior: Any inappropriate behaviors which occur before the end of the year could cause your child to be excluded from the 8th grade graduation ceremony.
Please help us keep this evening one where every Eisenhower Eagles are given the appropriate and earned respect for their eighth grade graduation. Every family is excited about seeing their child graduate. Please ensure all families will be able to hear their child’s name be announced during the ceremony.
In closing, the graduation ceremony should be a meaningful, pleasant experience for you as well as your graduate. For that to happen, we need your cooperation. If you plan to take pictures, please make sure to take them outside of the stadium to provide time for the stadium staff to prepare for the arrival of the next school.
