Graduation Gowns: 

As we are moving into the beginning of a new year, it is hard to believe that we are at the beginning stage of preparing for our 8th graders’ graduation.  The official graduation date will be announced after spring break.  

Parents will pay for the graduation gown and medal through the Infinite Campus parent portal Infinite Campus Parent Portal beginning January 10, 2023.  Please complete the Google form: Eisenhower Graduation Order Form to place your order and inform us of your students’ height. The keepsake gown is not a rental; you get to keep the gown after graduation.  The cost of the gown and medal is $23.00 if ordered through the portal..  We do not use caps in our ceremony.  Please note that all students participating in the graduation ceremony are required to purchase a gown.  Please let the office know if your student will be using their sibling’s gown. 

Ordering: The deadline date for filling out the order form is no later than January 25.  We will be sending out the order to the company on this date.  Today we will be sending a letter to each household with the ordering information. You can also fill out the form and send it to school with your child.  Online orders are $23.00 and in person orders are $21.00.

Once ordered the medals and gowns will be delivered to your child a few days before graduation.  Currently, no details are available regarding the day and time of our 2023 graduation ceremony.  We will notify you as soon as the District 54 Board of Education makes a decision to establish the date after spring break.

 Attendance:  If your child is staying home, please make sure to call our school office by 8:00 am.  Please call 847-357- 5502.  Students who are not called in are marked unexcused.

PTA Meeting:

Welcome back! Our first PTA of the new year is next Tuesday, January 17th at 6:30pm in the teacher’s lounge. We have some fun activities coming up for the remainder of the school year and would love to have your help. Hope to see you there! 

PTA Food:

We continue to offer nacho day on Mondays – don’t forget to send $2 with your student if they are interested! You can still order our next hot lunch on our website for our January Hot Lunch date until January 19th. And NEW – you can now purchase hot lunches for the remainder of the school year! Check out our website to pay or download the form. The form is also attached to this email.

Looking to help in 2023?

The Ike PTA has many opportunities for parents to get involved still this school year. Do you have kids participating in upcoming winter sports? We’d love to have your help selling concessions! Do you have one free Monday afternoon open a month to help serve nachos? Would you like to run a gift card fundraiser this spring, all can be done in your own home after work hours? Do you love to plan events and want to help plan our April family fun night? Reach out to [email protected] if you are interested in joining our volunteer list or helping with a specific event! Ike is great because of our community and we’d love to have your help. Even one hour a school year helps! 

Auction Items needed:

Our PTA is coordinating auction baskets/items for the Schaumburg Township Council of PTAs (STC) annual auction, and WE NEED YOUR HELP! Each year the STC offers college scholarships to former District 54 students, and summer experience scholarships to current students. The funds to support these scholarships are raised during our annual Silent/Live Auction event.  Each of the 28 schools are asked to contribute to this event by creating auction baskets. We have given examples of donations below, or we welcome a Target or Walmart gift card that can be used to purchase items. All items need to be received prior to January 23rd. Please coordinate donations with the auction chair, Sara Chiovari ([email protected]). This is a great way for families to help out Ike, even if you are not able to work an event.

Membership:

Have you joined the Ike PTA yet this year? Parents, guardians, grandparents, community members – all are welcome! Every membership helps support the school without any other commitment (although we’d love if you wanted to help, of course). Check out our online store to become a member this year.
