We want to congratulate all of our runners who competed in last weekend’s IESA Cross Country Sectionals! We are so proud of your hard work, dedication, and determination throughout the season. Thank you for representing our school and our team with pride. Way to finish the season strong!
We want to wish our 8th-grade students the very best of luck on their high school placement test this Saturday! Remember to stay confident, take your time, and put forth your very best effort. Believe in yourselves and show them what you can do! You’ve got this, Eagles! 🦅 Make us proud!
Please remember that electric bikes, scooters and skateboards are not permitted on District 54 property, due to safety concerns including the potential for accidents and the possibility of fire associated with such devices. This applies to students, as well as to family members and friends who may be picking up or dropping off students at school.
Career Day - Seeking Participants
We are looking for potential career presenters for our Career Day on February 12, 2027!
The purpose of this special day is to spark students’ interest in exploring future career opportunities while expanding their knowledge of the many paths available to them. We hope to introduce students to a variety of professions, industries, and experiences that will inspire them as they begin thinking about their futures.
We are looking for professionals who are willing to share their career journeys, describe what they do, discuss the education or training required for their field, and highlight the skills needed to be successful. Your personal experiences and insights could make a lasting impact on our students by helping them connect what they are learning in school to real-world opportunities.
Your participation would be a valuable opportunity to encourage students to dream big, explore their interests, and consider possibilities they may not have known existed.
If you are interested in participating, we would love to hear from you! Additional details regarding the schedule and presentation format will be shared as plans are finalized. Please email me if you are interested in being a part of this amazing day for our students.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to invest in our students and their futures. We appreciate your time, expertise, and willingness to help the next generation explore their potential.
We hope you will join us for this exciting day!
Athletic Fee for the 2026-27 School Year
With fall sports starting shortly after we return to school, I wanted to remind families that District 54 will be charging an athletic participation fee this year to students participating in sports to cover a portion of the costs of uniforms, transportation, officials, supplies and equipment and coach stipends. The fee would be $50 for one sport, $40 for a second sport and $30 if a student were to participate in a third sport this school year. The fee will appear in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal after a student has been rostered to a team.
Digital Citizenship Week: October 19-23
Next week, our students will celebrate Digital Citizenship Week! Throughout the week, we will focus on five important themes to help students become responsible, respectful, and thoughtful digital citizens.
Each day will highlight a different way to make positive choices online: Inclusive Monday, encouraging respect and empathy for others’ perspectives; Informed Tuesday, emphasizing the importance of evaluating the accuracy and trustworthiness of online information; Engaged Wednesday, exploring how technology can be used to help others and strengthen our communities; Balanced Thursday, promoting healthy habits and a balance between screen time and offline activities; and Alert Friday, reminding students to stay safe online and consider how their digital choices affect others.
We encourage families to continue these conversations at home by discussing responsible technology use, online safety, and ways to make the digital world a kinder, safer, and more inclusive place for everyone. Together, we can empower our students to make a positive impact both online and offline!
