It was a fantastic week with our Eisenhower Eagles! Today, we ended the week engaged in an inspiring assembly with an amazing guest speaker, Chris Singleton. Mr. Singleton is an inspirational speaker, author, and former professional baseball player who shared a powerful message with our students: love is stronger than hate.
His story and message challenged our students to think about how their words, choices, and actions can make a difference in the lives of others. We hope our Eagles will carry his message with them—not only in our school community, but wherever they go.
At Eisenhower, we strive to Engage, Empower, and Excel, and today’s assembly was a wonderful reminder of the power we each have to positively impact others. What a great way to end another fantastic week!
TARDY EXPECTATIONS:
Being on time to class is an essential skill for our junior high students. Arriving to class on time helps students maximize their learning time and demonstrates responsibility and respect for their teachers and classmates.
Beginning Monday, August 24, we began counting classroom tardies for our 8th grade students.
To give our 7th grade students additional time to become familiar with their schedules and routines, we began counting classroom tardies for 7th graders on Monday, August 31.
Students who are late to class will be assigned a lunch detention.
We appreciate your support in helping our students develop the habits and skills they need to be Empowered, Engaged, and Excelling at Eisenhower.
MISSING HOMEWORK:
Submitting classroom assignments and homework on time is an essential skill that helps students engage, stay organized, and excel in school. We want to support our students in developing strong habits of responsibility and time management.
Please review our expectations and procedures for missing assignments:
Late Assignments: If a student is submitting an assignment late, they should email their teacher and clearly identify the assignment they are submitting.
Parent Notification: Parents/guardians will be notified on Wednesday if their child has three or more missing assignments.
Monday Deadline: Students will have until Monday morning at 7:40 a.m. to complete and submit their missing assignments.
FLEX Time: Every Thursday, students are provided 40 minutes during FLEX to work on missing assignments and get caught up.
After-School Support: If a student still has missing work after the Monday deadline, they will be required to attend an after-school session on Tuesday or Thursday to complete their assignments.
Parent Notification for After-School Session: Parents/guardians will be notified on Monday of the day their child is assigned to attend the after-school session.
Our goal is not simply to address missing work, but to help students develop the habits and skills they need to be responsible, organized, and successful learners. We appreciate your partnership in helping your child stay on top of their assignments and take ownership of their learning.
