Fourth grade students who have not yet turned in their (green) Enrollment Form should do so as soon as possible. Follow up packets will be distributed at elementary schools this week for those students who were unable to attend an evening enrollment meeting. Students will be notified before the end of the year to confirm their instrument choice.
The 8th grade band will be playing on the Eisenhower Spring Concert on Wednesday, May 16 at 7:00 PM and then the following day for the opening of Special Olympics at Eisenhower (during the school day). Students were given a reminder note with the details.
Seventh grade band students received a letter containing important upcoming dates. Parents are asked to read the letter, record the dates in their calendar, and return the bottom portion of the letter to Mr. Boekenhauer by May 11. The dates include:

The Eisenhower 7th and 8th Grade Bands, as well as the Eisenhower Chorus and Orchestra, will present a concert on Wednesday, May 16 in the Eisenhower gym. The concert will begin at 7:00 PM. Bring your family and friends for an enjoyable evening of music!

Students in the 5th and 6th Grade Eisenhower bands and orchestras ended the after school band/orchestra season with an incredible performance of several musical selections on Thursday, March 22 in the Eisenhower gym. Many parents, family members, and friends were in attendance to support the fine musicians in their efforts. Many also enjoyed the ice cream that was served in the cafeteria after the concert.
In-school lessons will continue for 5th and 6th graders for the rest of the school year, however there will be no more after school rehearsals.
Eisenhower 7th and 8th Grade Bands will make their annual tours to the Eisenhower feeder elementary schools on April 10 and 13. 8th Grade will visit MacArthur and Churchill on Tuesday, April 10 and 7th Grade will visit Muir and Armstrong on Friday, April 13. Band students need to turn in permission slips for the tours and money for the pizza lunch by Thursday, March 22. Click below to download the permission forms:
Registration is now open for the District 54 Summer Music Program, which will be held from July 9-26 at Frost Junior High. Any student who has at least one year of experience on his/her instrument and has completed fifth, sixth, or seventh grade is eligible to enroll. Registration is my mail only. Forms are available from any instrumental music teacher or on the District 54 Intrumental Music website.
Fifth and Sixth Grade Band and Orchestra students will play a concert for family and friends on Thursday, March 22 at 7:00 PM. The concert will take place in the Eisenhower gym. Dairy Queen blizzards will be sold after the concert so plan to stick around, enjoy some ice cream, and visit with friends.
After this concert, there will be no more after school rehearsals, however in-school lessons will continue for the rest of the school year. You may download the note given to 5th grade band/orchestra students or the note given to 6th grade students.
Everybody did a wonderful job on the February 2 festival concert at Hoffman High School. From the fifth graders first performance to the rousing finale of “Battle Hymn of the Republic” by the combined 8th grade/High School band, all musicians gave an outstanding performance. Thanks to everybody involved and thanks to all those who attended for being such a wonderful audience.
