Spanish Language Speech Contest

KasingerWith guidance from Mr. Rivera five Eisenhower Jr. High students participated in the annual Spanish Language Speech Contest to promote the study and use of Spanish in our community. It was held on May 10th, at MacArthur Elementary School. There were two main categories: Native Spanish speakers and Spanish as a Second Language speakers.
The sponsors MacArthur Elementary School, School District 54′s Department of Language and Culture, and the Consulate of Spain in Chicago awarded Lauren S. [1st place, SSL], Juan S. [2nd, native speaker], Joey T. [2nd place, SSL], Christian P.[3rd place, native speaker] & Andy H. [3rd place, SSL]. Each one of them presented their own speech about different topics: Sports, Science, Bullying, Self improvement, etc.
This is the second time Eisenhower students have participated and won the majority of the first prize awards. Congratulations to all of the winners!!!
